If not, then you can return the Macbook.-Purchase a USB to SATA adapter -Attach the hard drive to the adapter, and then plug into USB-Reboot the computer, and hold down the 'T' key. Load multiple files and applications on your laptop smoothly with this 1TB Seagate BarraCuda internal hard-disk drive. If the new Mac starts with the old hard drive, then you can safely swap it. then you're probably like me and feel a bit disappointed.Įither way, it's a great machine so far. This allows you to mount the hard drive externally, but boot the Mac from it. However, if you plan on migrating data that exceeds half a TB & you want the process to be easy without running programs & opening docs from said external, or relying on a bunch of cloud-like devices. The smaller SSD obviously allows for a slightly better value, and if you're someone who relies on external hard drives then it probably won't be that big of a deal. I don't even think these laptops should come with 512gb or less anymore. The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect score is the SSD space. It's M1 Apple processor delivers high performance that handles high impact programs like photoshop, aftereffects & illustrator. This laptop does exactly what it needs to do.
The updated Macbook I've been looking for Seagate BarraCuda 1TB Internal Hard Drive HDD 2.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s 5400 RPM 128MB Cache for PC Laptop (ST1000LM048) is compatible to replace my original internal hard disk that came in.
